Last May 27, Zomato held a Foodie Meet Up in SM City East Ortigas. I did not know this newly opened mall offers a lot of great restaurants to choose from. Me and other fellow foodies gathered up to try all the delectable dishes each restaurants offers.
Offers innovative and stylized Filipino dishes. All menu items are prepared daily in their kitchen.
Here’s what we tried:
Tinapa Roll wrapped with Lettuce – Tinapa, onions, tomatoes and salted egg fried to give it a crunchy taste.
Tawilis Mangga on a spoon – The crispness of Tawilis topped with sliced ripe Mangga was so good. Dip it with their Tamarind sauce for that perfect flavor.
Crispchon – This Crispy Lechon was cut and placed in Pandan Crepe. It gave it more flavor to it.
Chicken Binakol – It was so good because they use the coconut water which made it taste a bit sweet.
Laing cooked in two ways. Wet and Dry. I liked both versions of it but I think which stands out for me was the dry one.
Pinatayong Manok – This was steamed and then showered with oil until golden brown. I can tell it’s a bit healthy as the Chicken was not soaked in oil.
Crispy Boneless Pata – Tender and really crispy. Their signature vinegar made this dish memorable too.
Kiwi Shake – This one is so refreshing and a must try.
They also have a function room which is good for 15 – 20 persons, perfect for celebrations or function meetings.
I definitely recommend heading over to Mesa for that modern Filipino food cravings.
Probably one of my top recommended restaurants here in SM City East Ortigas. Perfect for you working outside the office as every table has a power outlet which you can use to charge your gadget up. They have an industrial ambiance that makes it feel homey too. For food, everything is organic. Their Salad and Pasta dishes were delectable.
Fruitti de Mare has a generous amount of seafood which I love.
My Carbonara was creamy and scrumptious. Toasted Bacon on top added more texture and flavor to it.
I highly recommend their Crispy Bacon with rice though. Dip it with vinegar, the best!
Their Salmon Miso Teriyaki was well done. It was juicy and flavorful.
But what I remembered the most was their Croissants. The Ube, Red Velvet, Ensaymada, and Chocolate are just so freaking delicious.
It was laminated dough making it more crunchier than ever. The custard fillings with its flavors made it memorable for me.
Also, try their coffee and green tea. Yum!
Oh, a must try, their mini Madeleine. No need to go to Boracay for a Calamansi Muffin. This can beat that even with its size.
An hour before closing, they offer breads on 50% discount. Good news, right?
They also offer savory sandwiches if you’re not into sweet breads.
These Almond Chicken Tenders are to die
La Lola Churreria
A must go places when you’re having that Churros cravings. They now have different flavors to choose from which surprisingly not all sweets.
They have savory one too which is their Caliente. A savory sausage in between classic Churros with caramelized onions. For me, Classic churros is my cup of tea.
There’s different dips to choose from. They have the Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Ube and Matcha. Each one has a very distinct flavors. They also offer flavored Churros if you do not feel like dipping them with your bare hands.
– White Chocolate
What best paired with Churros but coffee. I tried their Cafe Con Leche and I find it too strong. I was expecting for a bit creamy, sweet drinks but this was surprisingly strong which is probably good since the Churros is already sweet.
Here’s a tip: Order their signature Shake,
it comes with a Churros. 😉
Offer 31 flavors with 1 additional as flavor of the month. So that’s 32 flavors total.
That explains the number 31 on the logo.
There’s 17 branches in total in the metro and here in SM City East Ortigas is a new addition. Tried the Flavor of the Month for June which is Cotton Candy N Cake Ice Cream and it was yum!
Creamy and tasty with bits of Cotton Candy which surprisingly I didn’t find too sweet.
Just right for my taste-buds.
This branch in SM East Ortigas was a bit crowded which is actually a good thing. Meaning, they still have the best donut here in the country.
We tried two flavors which were the ever famous Alcapone. The toasted almonds on top was chewy and crunchy. This was actually my favorite eversince I first tried it.
The new Avoconut, combination of Avocado and Coconut. I never thought they go well altogether.
They also launch the new Affogato Series which I highly recommend. They have 3 flavors to try. What I had was the Iced Chocolate Affogato. Thick Chocolate Milk with Chocolate Ice Cream on top. What more can you ask for?
I’ve yet to try the other two which are Iced Cafe Avocado Affogato and Iced Jcoccino Affogato. I’ll make another review for them.
Their Beef Burritos is a must try. It only cost 99 pesos and it’s such a value for your bucks. Pair it with Nachos for only 180.
I also love their Quesadillas. It consists of three different cheeses which makes it flavorful. Add salsa with it and it’s perfect.
Nachos is pretty good too. It was generously topped with ground beef and tomatoes, onions, cabbage with Garlic Sauce.
But a must try is the Sizzling Seafood.
It’s really good and it’s one of my favorite here. It’s a bit of spicy so prepare yourselves.
The Chicken Picanto was also a hit. It’s juicy, scrumptious and finger licking.
Here’s another reason for you to visit SM City East Ortigas.
